Fire Fighter Knife – Station 8

Today’s project will be a Spyderco Delica, stainless steel with a smooth blade. It will be a birthday present so I sure hope he does not follow my Blog (Ha).

Tonight I finalized the design, mounted the knife and prepared it for the design. Tomorrow I will start with drawing the design on the knife and get started on the engraving of theĀ Maltese Cross.

Fortunately, I’ve already helped with the Turkey Day dinner shopping and house cleaning for company so now I can spend all my time engraving this knife.

I am very happy with all the engraving project’s I’ve been getting. I just have to remember to put a project in here somewhere for my wife’s Christmas present.

When I look at my bench and see seven projects in the queue I feel a little overwhelmed and happy that everyone loves my work. With the Holiday’s quickly approaching I think I’m right on schedule with everything.

After I finish this knife it’s right onto a SilverĀ custom belt buckle. This will be a Christmas present and requires a lot of fabrication. I ordered the 18 gauge silver today and will meet the customer tomorrow to work together on the design. I love the design phase, it really stretches both my drawing and engraving skills. Plus it is easier to erase a pencil mark than to change an engraved line.

Then on to two Pistols. A matched pair of Single Action cowboy guns with sequential serial numbers. They are stainless steel Bisley’s and the owner has a design in mind so that design meeting is scheduled for Friday.

Before Christmas I also have to complete and ship: two Bolo ties, a Pendant with turquoise, a Broach also with turquoise, two Irish themed folders and a partridge in a pear tree!

So enough blogging, time to get to work…stay turned.
